This it’s where I’m currently working. This job you never stop learning. To work in a place that is so off grid. It is a 30 minute drive on a dirt road in to the forest. I also have a lot of freedom within the kitchen where I have learned a lot about cooking and baking.

I sadly do not leave in the best of terms at this position. I tried my best to, I give a months notice and she didn’t want me to quit so she gave me two days to leave. Being in the most North Western community in Canada. It was a real shock I Loved working there. I just wanted to move on and experience new things within the Yukon.
But I learned so much being so far away from the city. It took 5 1/2 hours one way to get to White Horse. Following the speed limit. You had to do a lot of planning for the restaurant and cooking for the kids.

This place is an absolutely special part of my heart when I was volunteering here I loved it so much I stayed even longer and even came back my experience managing people and cooking large quantities of food really helped the group and it was for a good cause because we help make meals for the homeless and people who needed food during COVID-19
I have wanted to be a cook ever since I was about six years old I remember playing with fake food and pretending to cook eventually I got the opportunity at the age of 13 to work in a dish pit and a professional kitchen and I was hooked from there in my high school I took every cooking course I could because it was a professional cooking horse and I remember speaking to my teacher and he sent me the best thing to do before I do my apprenticeship is to travel and see how they cook in different countries and I have not stopped I’ve cooked professionally in five or six countries and I am very happy and very proud of all the experiences I’ve had.
