175.✓Japan–Go to a manga cafe.

I remember many years ago before I went to Japan, I watched a Vice story about how it is  manga cafes and internet cafes in Japan are the cheapest place to live and there are people actually live long term in them  because it so expensive in Tokyo to scape a living  I got really curious about it and realize that it’s not only an odd  place to live but it has hundreds and hundreds of comic books anything you can think of so that is why it is on my bucket list.

The story.

My friend and I  are travelling throughout the dark underbelly of Tokyo and we were tired after the long day of being lost and eating a shit load of food. We don’t really know what we gonna do it’s dark we don’t have much money. and that is where I remember about the 24H manga cafes. I remember people use it as a cheap form of housing in Japan,

I want to go to someplace to sleep (and is cheap) I bring up the fact that there is a manga cafe on my bucket list to my bud. Now I feel like I am trying to sell a used car.

Smack the front door of  manga Café

In old time car sellers voice.

“Now you see here this is a 2018 manga Café Full of free coffee cheap sleeping and Internet going for the low low price of 20 bucks a night.  Now I can go any lower. Compared to the other markets like a hotel will cost about the thousand dollars nite.

I think that I’ll be a good idea we get hopelessly lost through downtown Tokyo trying to find one eventually after asking three nice ladies and going to a hotel to pointed in the direction we find a broken door with a cute little animal As a mascot and on that door, it says Manga/internet cafe.

I shrug my shoulders open the door, an old man greets us he is standing behind the table he looks as if he was plucked out of one of the many books that adorn the walls. He is one of the old men that helps the young protagonists learn to fight kung-fu. But here he is sitting behind a table.

He can’t speak in English but he smiles and points to a sign saying the prices in English. We smile back and point out the one that we want my friend and I get separate rooms but I wouldn’t call them rooms more cubicles.

We pay and he shows us around.

He stands up, it seems like he is made out of old clock parts he moves slowly I can almost hear the gears grinding. but he makes it and he walks around and shows us the books and free coffee. Then he shows up the desk it looks nice and I smile my friend is sitting next to me. we sit down and start looking things up.

eventually,  I open up my Facebook and see my friend is on so I start messaged her as a joke to say hello this proceeds to a couple of hour-long chat with us messaging making jokes just as if we were in some middle management firm in a big city surrounded by people and their bullshit. but I stop get bored and thirsty

I get myself a nice coffee for coffee at surprisingly good for them and for the price that we pay. I sit back on my table and there are a couple more messages I heading to my friend’s cubicle she smiles at me and Laughs I hand her coffee.

After a few minutes I get up to get another coffee but this time I go through the library to check s some of the books first I open a lol they are all in Japanese……..  I cannot read Japanese, but  I do like the pictures. there are thousands of them all different genres from sports to even cooking and a lot of hentai. lol

I sit back down with my hot coffee and I and chill after a few mins I try and have a nap. AND IT WORKS LIFE IS GOOD. It is not the best sleep but it is ok I like it. I tell my friends that we have to go soon to see the finsh market she smiles and strechis like a cat that just got up. and nods after a few mins we are out in the fresh nigh air and that seems to be more of a wake up then any amount of coffee.
