Life’s simple pleasures.

that’s what I find most beautiful when travelling 

it’s not necessarily the grand things like the Sydney Opera House, it’s the simple things like the sound of the little birds in the morning when you wake up at your hostel.

A good example for me is a minigolf date – I just love the idea of having a simple and cute day with someone you trust and love, and that’s exactly what me and Rachael did.

We were walking through Sydney and we found a cool golf place called Holey Moley and we decided to go on a date! First we had a nice meal in the snazzy themed restaurant inside and then we started the nine-hole course. It was bonkers – it was so much fun as we got our golf balls and golf clubs. I made a deal with Rachael – whoever wins can ask the loser for anything at all. So off we go! The first hole started horribly – the ball flew overhead and failed but that’s okay because so did Rachel’s and then I realise we are both equally matched and how shitty we were.

As we go to the second hole I realise it’s a giant fake money machine where the money blows all over you as a distraction.

Alot of fun!

Me and Rachael play with the money for a bit after that we proceed with higher scores and smiling and remember we just keep going pretty much evenly matched until eventually the last hole which is an upsidedown trashed room from a rockstar. By this time I’m up one point and I actually do pretty good, I make make it in three shots. Rachael sadly she lost but she gave me a kiss on the cheek and agreed that she would write me a love letter for when I left.

I smiled, and told her I love her as we finish the game. I still have that scorecard to this day. As we hand in our balls or golf clubs I think to myself how beautiful life is to be with someone who so kind and caring and I wonder what Rachael is thinking at this time… maybe how sexy a man look playing minigolf. We walk out smiling hand-in-hand and I hope that we can do it again.
