So climbing Hallasan is on my bucket list and that is essay enough other than the wind and heat.

But I also found out when I came to juju that there is a soju named after the mountain.

So I got a bottle and put it is my pack.

Lets call it a celebration drink

Later I found out that that is the strongest soju that you can buy in Korea ( I was wondering why I was drunk going down the mountain.)

So my girlfriend and I pack are bags early in the morning and set off after a couple hours on a hot bus. We make  it to the base of the mountain. it doesn’t look that steep. I know it’s only about a six hour hike and that isn’t that tough but we still prep with food and drinks. Just in case

We disembark off  that rickety old bus. that looks as if it is as old as the mountain itself, but less stable.

I do a couple stretches and get ready for the hike so does my girlfriend and then off we go taking the obligatory photos of the base of the hill.

And we hike for hours hours and in between the chance we take breaks  and drink water. We start running low on water but there is no worry we have 19 proof wind to drink if we need.

After what seems like 4 days we are just about to hit the top. We’re just about to hit the top of the mountain. I start getting excited, I just love the idea of being on top of the mountain I hope one day to go to Mount Everest.

By this time our jackets are off. And we are sweeting like pigs. We both looked kind of disheveled but my gf still looks hot and I do no know how. I think I look like I just with through a tumble wash for the passed hour.

I go up the hill where you can see the ocean on all side bit seems like a nice place just o hang out and have a drink.

We got very lucky that day because there was almost no cloud cover and no smog you could see as far as possible.

After a moment of peace the wind hit us so hard. I almost fell down the mountain. 

So I sat down and look through my bag and found what I was looking for a glass bottle with a incredibly strong soju in it

I don’t know why but I feel like I accomplished something big tonight cracked open the drink and take a swig  I took a couple photos drinking it on top of the mountain laughing

then eventually I just sat down and enjoyed.

Until an old man poke me in the shoulder and pointed at my bottle and started laughing.m we started laughing together.  even though we couldn’t speak the same language is a beautiful connection. and then I offer him a swig he graciously takes a Long drink.

After the drink me and my girlfriend kiss on top of the mountain and slowly make their way to the bottom the worst part of hiking is not going up it is hiking down

After a few hours my lags are dead

Eventually we make it to the bus,

Then eventually we make It to the hostel,

Then eventually we make it to bed.

Once I was in bed thinking about my day and  how lucky. I am To Be traveling the world and hiking so much I hope to do more because the views you see are just unbelievable.
