The White Cliffs of Dover are an incredible sight to behold, with their towering presence commanding attention even from afar. Their sheer magnitude and beauty is truly awe-inspiring, and it’s hard not to get lost in the countless stories they’ve witnessed over the centuries. Stretching back to ancient times, these cliffs have been an iconic landmark that has served as both a natural barrier and a historical witness to countless events and changes throughout human history. One can easily spend hours exploring the nooks and crannies of these natural wonders, discovering fascinating etchings and markings that tell stories both grand and small. During my visit, I had the special opportunity to leave my own mark – a small but meaningful marquette smiley face etching that felt like a true honor. From old videos of World War II bombers flying past these cliffs to beautifully painted artistic renditions, there’s truly no shortage of wonder to be found here. Despite the chilly weather, the reward of experiencing this natural beauty was well worth it. And to cap off a perfect day, I even treated myself to a cool, refreshing ice cream afterward.
