Intro
Why is this on my list.

When you travel you try and find interesting and odd places. Places that have the essence of the culture not necessarily the big sightseeing places, but the smaller ones the ones we get to the hart the nitty-gritty of the place you are so luck to be in.

The reason why 59 squat is on my bucket list because it is the essence of France in my eyes beautiful avant-garde art and people squatting in a beautiful old building.

It’s punk it’s beautiful and it’s truly out right ridiculous. that’s why it’s on my bucket list it’s a mixture of all the emotions I like.

The story.

Once it was a squatters paradise with many people living there and trying to eek out a  living now. it is a trendy bougie art house filled with people trying to experiment and grow what art means.  A place of rebels even to this day just in a different way.

Rachel and I are wandering through the city of Paris like a ping pong ball bouncing down a stare case looking for many things on are bucket list. I’m trying to cross off as many in such a short amount time that we are looking for  a  gallery. NOW the first thing that popped in my mind is wandering around looking at  bananas taped to a wall in a clean sterile room ceiling  that are 10 times bigger then they need to be and and those rooms are filled with white paint  and wood floors that is what I was thinking as we turn the corner and  like a slap to the face we saw two giant tits made out of plastic water bottles. We are defiantly not in Kansas anymore.

Definitely not what I was thinking but in the centre of the tits a sign that says 59 art gallery. I l giggle to myself and say “this must be it” so we go across the street. Speaking of the streets of France I love them they are a mismatch of business people going to some meeting and crazy people  missing there shoes. It is cool how ever body is living together. We passed them all as we walk across the street and eventually make it to the front of the building.

We go to the front counter and ask how much it costs. a cross between a hippie and a businessman looks up at us. (or though us more like)  and says in broken English it’s free….. enjoy so we do. We go straight to the top hand and hand and try and see what we can find. the view is beautiful. even though we’re huffing and puffing because were out of breath. (god how are we so out of shape)

after are harts feel like they are not about to stop we look around  in this beautiful room and see art…. Art everywhere art  that expresses love, hatred, passion, history. every conceivable feeling anything you can think of. Some of it beautiful like a branching out lines looking like the roots of a tree tree long lost to time creating a heart or a breast or a brain.

Making me think about how natural we truly are or things that are a little less beautiful like a raunchy top off wonder woman beautiful in its own way.

Entertaining and beautiful every floor. As  me and my love are wondering we see people looking and enjoying and having fun. But if you scratch the surface  of this place like a one dollar scratch card you can see the history of this place as a squatters paradise the cuts in the bannisters. The holes in the wall it’s all been painted over or tried to. you can see the history. If you look.

By 12 afternoon we start looking to go but we get stuck a huge group of people are doing a photo shoot. In the spiral staircase making me laugh and pull my camera to do a impromptu photo shoot. ( good memory) we look at the last couple floors

it’s more of the same just beautifu and very friendly people

It’s actually really cool because this place is filled with artists that aren’t pompous or stuck up there truly just want to make beautiful art for people. I wish and pray that every city has a place like this it would not only show the character of the people that are most ignored in the city but it also would give character to each city. Like a tramp stamp tattoo on the back of the city it may be a little odd but it make the city look cool

But I hope you enjoyed the short post and I really do hope you guys can look at the world around you.  sometimes if you’re lucky you’ll see giant green tits on the side of the wall like I did that one time in Paris.

I love you all and I’ll see you soon
