604.✓UK–Take photos in Lake Street Graffiti Tunnel.

Because this area is punk as hell and they have a whole ton of amateur and professional graffiti artists showing their profession, it is absolutely amazing. Also the spray paint smells amazing to me and always has been, so its a win-win!

The story.
The sun was starting to set as we just passed Saint Pauls Cathedral.
Rachael and I are walking across the Harry Potter bridge (Millenium bridge) and I’m giddy and giggling just for the simple fact of knowing that a part of Harry Potter is right under my feet. That’s the cool part about London – you walk past these parts of movies and history, and soon they’re becoming a part of your life. I can never complain but me and Rachael are looking for another part, we’re hopefully soon to be at the Leake street graffiti tunnel; its a constantly changing tunnel of graffiti where amateurs and professionals like to spray paint huge murals of everything, from Lego and Batman to a giant middle finger.
It ranges from the artistic of the art to the dumbest of the dumb but we haven’t gotten there yet, we’re still walking on that bridge and then Rachael checks on her phone and tells us we have to go right and walk about another 10 minutes. In my excitement I totally forgot everything, we pass the people of London walking so quickly and I’m starting to as well through my excitement. After about 10 minutes me and Rachael start smelling spray paint and it brings me back to when I used to custom spray paint bikes and skateboards as a hobby.
I have a little smile on my face as we get to the tunnel and think to myself how cool it is going to be to watch these people spray paint. They’re cool with us watching which is surprising, I thought they’d be a little more stressed about it but they’re not. Men and women in punk clothes and huge masks are spray painting words that are almost like calligraphy, you can’t quite read it. Me and Rachael are standing hand-in-hand in amazement. I tried striking up a conversation with a couple of the guys who are relatively quiet just doing their own thing.
I can understand that, I would love to come here with a couple beers, sit down and chat with a couple of them, but that’s for another day. I start looking around me and I realize that 100% of this tunnel is covered in graffiti. There’s not a square inch that isn’t painted. I start wandering around with my head craned up as if I’m looking at the Sistine Chapel and I accidentally kick a beer can… oh wait not a beer can, holy shit it’s a spray can. This place is so cool but from there me and Rachael walk back-and-forth a couple times seeing the people take selfies and creating art. I realize it’s about time for us to leave.
We snap a couple morr pictures, give each other a kiss and go about our day… the wind is starting to get a little cold in London as the temperature changes are quite surprising so we start heading home and get ready for a good sleep, to get ready for a long day of work and crossing other things off our bucket list. But first maybe go for a cheeky McDonald’s as Hare Krishna people don’t like meat but I sure as hell do.
I love you all and I hope you enjoy this quick little post and I do truly hope you guys are lucky enough to travel the world.
If not I hope this little post made you smile.
