63.✓Eat-in a Michelin Starred Restaurant.

As a cook and lover of food this is on my bucket list for many reasons and I am proud to say that one of them is because I want to try the best and worst food in this world.

The story.

This was an amazing experience and I will remember it forever, granted the line for waiting to eat I will try and forget.

That’s the thing I noticed about travelling – it’s just a lot of waiting in line but if you tend to have a hobby or do stuff at home I like to read or learn new skills while waiting in line. That’s what I’m doing – I’m reading and waiting very patiently to go into this restaurant.

We are on the outskirts of Hong Kong and which is a seemingly random setting as a beautiful Michelin star restaurant, that has beautiful dim sum almost to the point where I cry. But there I am waiting patiently at the front door of this restaurant when a very kind Hong Kong woman tells me that it’s my turn. The moment me and my friend walk through the door we are engulfed by the steam and eccentric smells which surround us. My friend and I sit down, I put my bike away and we start looking at the menu.

I keeping getting distracted by the waitresses running around bringing other people food. She passes with one dish and then another one, I can’t decide what I want. This tends to happen over and over again, my friend laughs and says that I have to try the deep-fried pork buns so we order that and a couple of other things here and there. I laugh because it’s just so cheap to have a Michelin star restaurant for less than 20 bucks, it’s amazing.

The waitress comes over with a notepad and pen and asks what we want, my friend points out a couple things and ask for basically one of everything. She writes it down quickly and runs off, I think to myself damn she must be burning some serious calories. So me and my friend are sat down start chatting about life and how he owns a popcorn business in Toronto, I ask him many questions about this and how he loves it. He says that it’s a wonderful business and he’s happy he got into it but we are caught mid-sentence when the waitress starts bringing over our dishes. The first thing we got are fried pork buns and I’m not gonna lie they made me cry, I instantly wanted to pick one up but I instantly burnt my hand!

My friend laughed and said to wait a second so I do want to take a sip of my tea then try a bite. The fatty barbecue taste spread across my whole mouth, it’s delicious with a sweet sour and salty mixture. It’s so perfectly balanced I cannot describe! I start laughing to myself thinking how delicious it is I probably look crazy to my friend and the people around me. I take a couple photos and we start back on the conversation and when it’s cut short again with some vegetable dumplings and steamed pork ribs. After about 20 minutes we have all our food. As we are starting to finish off our meal I take a couple more sips of my delicious tea and I think about how amazing this world is.

But now seeing as I’m writing this are year later I was thinking about it and currently right now there’s huge protest in Hong Kong which makes me sad, seeing all these photos of such beautiful places been destroyed. It’s heartbreaking but what’s more heartbreaking is how the people of Hong Kong are being forced into something that they don’t want. They should be their own country. But other than that I love Hong Kong and I do love China.

I hope everybody gets a chance to have a delicious Michelin star restaurant experience it’s something that I just can’t describe, it is something that you just have to go to.

I love you I’ll see you on the next post
