681.✓UK–Try a full English Breakfast

Intro
Why is this on my list.

Putting is not known for having the pinnacle of food especially back in the day but now Britain is having a Renaissance with people like Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenfeld food is becoming more beautiful more fascinating than ever but sometimes you need to go back to the basics and that’s why the great British fry up is on my bucket list

The story.
It’s early in the morning and we’re preparing for a huge day to hopefully cross off the “Seven Noses of Soho”. Me and Rachael have had nothing to eat since we got up and started planning our day and we’re starting to get hungry, we giggle as we walk down the street in the morning, holding hands and giving each other cute little kisses. We decide we’re going to go cross off a British fry up, it’s monday and I’m feeling like something greasy… I’m not talking about Steve Buscemi!
Rachael knows where she wants us to go – it’s a local cafe that serves things like jacket potatoes and fish and chips; British food stuff that you picture eating after a long day at Wetherspoons.
The working man’s food.
Sadly Rachael does not get the chance to have a full English fry-up because she’s vegetarian but she still has an amazing one. Leaving our house we walk aimlessly looking at the things passing by me, I’m like a little puppy getting easily distracted and having fun, trying to find the beauty within the world. Rachael has the more zealous determination as she knows where we’re going and we have a big day ahead of us.
Eventually she pointed me in the direction of the building off in the corner of a street sign – that’s where we’re going. I over-eagerly step off the curb to cross and I was almost hit by car! Gotta love it, the stomach will do many things. We walk hand-in-hand across the street and then into the cafe where a very kind man sat us down, looks at my girlfriend and says “ladies first”. I laugh and agree as Rachael orders the veggie fry up. The kind man looks at me with the warmest of smiles and I say I’d like the big breakfast. I feel like a man saying that because it’s big and I’m a man.
Then he bows and lets us sit with her own thoughts and a couple glasses of water. Me and Rachael look into each others eyes and just like every other moment of the day I just realize how beautiful she as she smiles and turns her head to the side with shyness… I love her for that, she’s a beautiful kind woman and the fact that she’s willing to cross the things off my bucket list with me makes me happy. W still wait and start chatting about life and her plans for the day. We also chat about how a show that Rachael fell in love with when it was a book took such a left turn on the final episode, turning the interesting intelligent ideas of the book into basically Fast and Furious but with vampires… we are both are sad about that but we also giggle about the jokes we tell eachother.
Eventually the kind man drops our plates in front of us and I have to say it, the second he dropped a plate in front of me my jaw fell on the floor. It was a literal huge mound of food right in the centre of the one thing I really wanted to try – the black pudding.
I spent a couple of minutes taking in this plate of food realizing people eat it every day and how much energy it must give them, then I start digging in. The first thing I did was take a couple of bites of the black pudding – blood sausage – it was spiced to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. From there I just basically ate the rest of my breakfast. It was amazing – the toast was perfectly cooked, the egg was runny in that sexy way that we all love and the bacon was cooked to perfection, the same with the sausage.
Then proceeded a torrent of cutting, stirring, and eating as I tried every mixture possible just to see what taste good and to tell you the truth – it tasted wonderful. It’s a filling meal, it’s something simple that fills your belly and warms you up for a long day of work. I can see why farmers love this kind of food, it’s hearty and it’s good and there’s no pretension to it. It’s not like a five star fancy restaurant where every waiter has a pipe up their ass it’s just good food made by hearty kind hearted people. It’s the kind of place you walk into and the girl says “Hey hun, how you doing?”
And that’s what I love about it.
I’m happy I got to cross this off but I’m not gonna lie I was really full by the end of it and felt more like a taking nap than hiking a mountain, but that was just me. We went up to the front, paid and said thank you. It’s funny because I don’t think the waiters or the cooks knew how big of a moment this was for me but they seemed happy enough. Passing moments and memories that hopefully will last forever.
I hope you guys enjoy the post, I did try to make this one a little longer just to be entertaining. I find it hard to read sometimes because it’s difficult but I just keep trying and see what happens.
I love you all and I’ll see you in the next post.
